Cyprus once perfumed Europe

Between the 14th and 17th centuries, European courts used curious scented objects known as Oiselets de Chypre — Little Birds of Cyprus.

The small perfumed figures were made from an aromatic paste blending labdanum, oakmoss, spices and floral waters.

They were placed in rooms, among textiles, or gently warmed to release their scent into the air.

More than decorative objects, they reflect an important moment in the history of perfumery — a link between ancient Mediterranean scent traditions and what would later become the Chypre fragrance family.

Today

This tradition is revisited through a contemporary interpretation of the Oiselets de Chypre — Little Birds of Cyprus. Made from locally sourced resins and botanicals, each piece slowly releases a warm, evolving scent — a material form of perfume, designed to be lived with.

Workshops

In small-group settings, participants learn how to create their own scented objects, working with natural materials. It is a way of reconnecting with scent as a process, shaped by hand, time, and attention.
